Nicola
Nicola De Maria (Foglianise, 6 December 1954) is an Italian artist and painter. It is one of five in the Italian artistic Trans theorized by Achille Bonito Oliva in 1978, but unlike the other members of the group, such as Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi and Mimmo Paladino, if his work is mainly focused on abstraction and a pictorial approach in which the limits of the canvas were exceeded to enter into a relationship with the surrounding space. Mary Exhibited at the Venice Biennale (1980, 1988, 1990) has Documenta 7 in Kassel (Germany) (1982), went XVI Bienal de São Paulo (Brazil) (1981), went IV Biennale of Sydney (Australia) (1982) and went Quadrennial of Rome (2005, 2012). Retrospectives of his work if they are carried out at the Museum Haus Lange (Krefeld) (1983), went to Basel Kunsthalle Basel (1983), Kunsthaus went (1985) to the Stedeljik van Abbemuseum Eindhoven (1985), the Seibu Museum of Modern Art Tokyo (1988), at the Musée Fine Arts Nimes (1994), Kunstverein Ludwigsburg al (1994), the Staatliche Kunstsammlung Liechtensteinische, Vaduz (1998), the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (2004) and the Museo Pecci (2012 ). He also participated on the Trans Italian German retrospective at Castello di Rivoli in 2003 Others Palazzo Reale in Milan in 2012. Maria live and works in Turin.
