HASSINGER
Sybille
Born in 1963 in Witten (Germany) and studied extensively at the Art College of Dortmund. Her work has been exhibited at various galleries throughout Europe including the Gallery du Pavillon Royal in Paris, the Gallery Outline in Amsterdam, the Gallery Roland Aphold in Basel and The Arke Galery in Dortmund. Sybille Hassinger’s paintings illustrate the simultaneous penetration of various image ideas, in which the area of the image is broken by more graphic elements. This overlapping brings together the fragile drawings to make a robust, spacious illusion. This illusion of space is further enhanced by the choice of colors used such as blue, gray and violet. By adding wax and paraffin to the surface, the works take On a transparency which adds further to the artist’s vision of space.
